Abstract

Background: The aim of current study was to compare the dimension of family functions among addicts and NORMAL PEOPLE.Materials and Methods: A total number of 50 available addicts and 50 NORMAL PEOPLE were selected in the city of Tabriz. Data were gathered by administering the demographic characteristics and health-related quality of life questionnaires. The gathered data were analyzed by SPSS version 20 software package, using multivariate analysis (MANOVA).Results: The results showed that there were significant differences between addicts and NORMAL PEOPLE regarding to the components of family functions and performances (problem solving, communication, roles, affective involvement, and behavior control), so that they lead to the family dysfunction of ADDICTED people, but there were no significant differences between the groups in the case of emotional solidarities.Conclusion: The study indicated that it is very important to prevent the family from addiction.
