Abstract

Introduction: Strategic thinkers contribute to the development and creation of strategy that can allow organizational leaders the opportunity to create ideas that give an organization a sustainable competitive advantage. Those strategic thinkers who execute strategy may have a greater likelihood of successful implementation of the strategy and Organizational Performance. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Strategic Thinking and Organizational Performance of middle and senior managers of Iran Health Insurance Organization. Methods: This study is a descriptive-correlational study that has taken place among 160 senior and mid-level managers of Health Insurance Organization of Iran. Data gathering instrument was a valid and reliable questionnaire that was consists of three parts: demographic information, Strategic Thinking and Organizational Performance questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed by using SPSS software and Pearson and Kendall correlations test. Results: According to the results of the study, Strategic Thinking and Organizational Performance have a good score. There was also a significant relationship between Strategic Thinking and Organizational Performance and the five dimensions of Strategic Thinking with Organizational Performance (P<0. 05). Conclusion: according to results further promotion and strengthening of this type of thinking among managers in relation to Holger's perspective is suggested.
