Abstract

Introduction: Success in dentistry depends on the ability of the dentist to manage both clinical and managerial aspects. The purpose of this study was to compare the management of dental clinics in selected countries and provide solutions for Iran. Methods: This research was conducted in a comparative manner in five countries of the United States, Canada, France, England and Iran. To determine the pattern of management of dental clinics, a review of previous studies, comparative matrix and Delphi technique were used. Results: The pattern of management of dental clinics has three main dimensions of customer management, personnel management and technical management. Also, according to the analyzes carried out by the comparative matrix, dental clinics in Iran are far away from implementing the activities of the dimensions of the pattern of Dental Clinic Management with the advanced countries of the United States, Canada, France and the United Kingdom, and in most of the activities act as a minimum. According to an adaptive matrix analysis, 11 strategies for improving the management of dental clinics were identified which its validity with Delphi technique was confirmed by the experts in two phases. Conclusion: If dental clinic managers in Iran decide on strategies for managing dental clinics and in line with the needs and strategies of the dental clinic, allocate the necessary human and financial resources, there will be significant results in relation to the performance of the dental clinic in the long run.
