Abstract

Objectives: The study aimed to depict the predictive role of practical obligation to the ISLAMIC TENETS and demographical factors in DEPRESSION, ANXIETY and stress among college Students.Method: The research was a cross-sectional descriptive study and statistical population was college Students of Semnan University that 330 college Students were selected by random sampling and they completed the DEPRESSION ANXIETY Stress Scales (DASS-42), Self-report scale of practical obligation to the ISLAMIC TENETS and Demographical questionnaire. Data analysis performed by using of correlation and stepwise multiple regression.Results: Practical obligation to the ISLAMIC TENETS, gender and SOCIO-ECONOMIC status significantly predict variation of DEPRESSION and stress (P<0.001). Practical obligation to the ISLAMIC TENETS is alone significant predictor for ANXIETY (P<0.001). The age hasn’t significant role in prediction of DEPRESSION, stress and ANXIETY of college Students (P>0.05).Conclusion: The findings emphasize on the importance of designing religious inspirations oriented interventions and SOCIO-ECONOMIC status promotion to improve the college students’ DEPRESSION, ANXIETY and stress symptoms.
