Abstract

Background and Aim: PRADER-WILLI SYNDROME is a rare genetic disease that caused by a partial deletion of the long arm of the paternal chromosome 15. The prevalence rate of this syndrome is 1 in 20000-125000. Despite of dietary and pharmaceutical treatments, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY with comprehensive and holistic approach is the best option for rehabilitation because there are both of physical and mental problems in this syndrome.Case report: In this study, a child with PRADER-WILLI SYNDROME was presented who Received OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY services. The patient was a 1 years old child who was introduced to OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY clinic after diagnosis of PRADER-WILLI SYNDROME via special paraclinical evaluations. After receiving 1 year OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY services, his muscle tonus, motor development, balance, and posture were improved.
