Title

EFFECT OF DIFFERENT INTENSITIES OF VOLUNTARY CONTRACTION ON VERTICAL JUMP PARKOUR ATHLETES

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the effect of a variety of VOLUNTARY CONTRACTION intensity on the VERTICAL JUMP of Parkour athletes. Twelve Parkour athletes (with an average age of 21.9 ± 2.4 years, and an average weight of 67.8 ± 3.4 kg) who were active in the Kermanshah’s gyms participated voluntarily in the study. Subjects in four days with an interval of 48 hours have done randomly four training status: routine warmup (control condition), routine WARM-UP along with dynamic half squat with Submaximal intensity (35% 1RM), routine WARM-UP along with dynamic half squat with the maximum intensity (95% 1RM), and routine WARM-UP along with dynamic half squat with supra-maximal intensity (120% of 1RM). Four minutes after accomplishment of each Protocol, the VERTICAL JUMP test was performed by subjects. Analysis of variance with repeated measures was used to analyze the data. The results showed that only the doing a routine WARM-UP along with dynamic half squat with the maximum intensity causes a significant increase in VERTICAL JUMP height as compared to the control condition (p=0.02). Also, VERTICAL JUMP height following routine WARM-UP along with dynamic half squat with the maximum intensity was significantly more than VERTICAL JUMP height following routine WARM-UP along with dynamic half squat with the Submaximal and supra-maximal intensity (respectively p=0.03, p=0.01). Therefore, it can be said that the implementation of the VERTICAL JUMP after routine WARM-UP along with dynamic half squat with the maximum intensity brings the best performance for people.
