Abstract

Introduction: The aim of study is to research the Relationship of PERSONALITY DISORDERS with suicide-al-tendencies in a group of military SOLDIERS.Methods: The subjects of this research are, 310 SOLDIERS in Isfahan city in a military center were selected through multiphase cluster method; and they completed the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI_II) & Beck Suicide Scale Ideation (BSSI). Data was analyzed through descriptive statistical tests, Pierson coefficient of correlation and multivariable regression.Findings: The correlation results have been showed that there is a significant relationship among anti-social (r=0.60), paranoid(r=0.60), narcissist (0.44), borderline (0.69), avoidance (r=0.50), schizotypal (r=0.25), masochist (r=0.44), Negativistic (r=0.65) PERSONALITY DISORDERS with suicide-al-tendencies. Results of multivariable regression showed that variance of 0.74 related to suicide-al-tendencies have been predicted by PERSONALITY DISORDERS.Conclusion: This research showed that PERSONALITY DISORDERS symptom can predict for suicide and suicidal-thinking.
