Abstract

Background and Objective: CORONARY ARTERY BYPASS GRAFT (CABG) surgery is one of the treatment methods for heart diseases developed and followed enormous costs recently. The present study assesseted the changes of life quality in patients undergoing CORONARY ARTERY BYPASS GRAFT surgery in year.Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 60 patients undergoing CORONARY ARTERY BYPASS GRAFT surgery of Uremia Emam Khomeini hospital, Iran, during 2009- 2010. They were selected base on purposive sampling. QUALITY OF LIFE in patients in three parts of physical, social and psychological domains was evaluated before surgery and six months and one year after surgery by a researcher-made questionnaire (according SF36). The data were analyzed by SPSS 13, ANOVA and t tests.Results: The finding showed that the intermediate level of patients' life quality domains. Assessing the patients’ life quality in three times showed that statistically significant improvement in the physical (P=0.002) and psychological (P<0.001) domains except the social dimension (P=0.680). Total score of life quality increased significantly (P=0.004).Conclusion: The results of study indicated that total score of patients'life qualityincreased significantly during a year.
