IDENTIFYING AND RANKING THE AFFECTIVE FACTORS IN THE EXECUTION OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION INSTRUCTING OF MENTALLY RETARDED STUDENTS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF KHUZESTAN

Abstract

 The purpose of this research is to identify and ranking the affective factors in the execution of physical education instructing of MENTALLY RETARDED STUDENTS from the perspective of Khuzestan physical education teachers with presenting solutions. The present study is of descriptive- Analytical kind and is a field research. The statistical population of this research includes all the physical education teachers of Khuzestan special schools, i.e. schools of MENTALLY RETARDED STUDENTS, which is 46 people that according to the small size of the statistical population, the total population was considered as the statistical sample (N=n=46). Data collection tools included researcher-made questionnaire about having 35 questions in five areas. The face validity of questionnaire was tested by 14 professors and experienced experts of physical education. For reliability, the questionnaire was distributed among 25 teachers in special schools and alpha 0.91 respectively. Descriptive statistical methods were used to describe the research variables and inferential statistical methods were used to test the hypotheses and a significant level (a=0.05) was determined. The findings of the research showed that from the perspective of the teachers, the general prioritizing of affecting factors include the characteristics of physical education teachers, physical education facilities and equipment, the method used in physical education instruction, the method of evaluating it and its content. Based on the results of the research, it is recommended to directors of education and principals that a special attention should be given to the characteristics of the teachers and the related facilities and equipment in order to effectively help MENTALLY RETARDED STUDENTS to develop physically and mentally through affective execution of physical education.
