Abstract

Introduction: The ability to perceive the passing of time is influenced by cognitive and demographic factors, which is fundamental to adapting to the environment.Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the accuracy of TIME REPRODUCTION in children in comparison to adolescents according to task (mono versus dual task).Method: For this purpose, 134 students in Tabriz were selected by Multi-stage cluster sampling. In this study, computerized test were used for collecting data to measure the accuracy of TIME REPRODUCTION. The gathered data were analyzed by SPSS 16 software.Descriptive statistics, paired t-test, independent t-test and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) were applied to analysis of data. Results: The findings of this study were following: 1) under-estimation of time was observed in both groups (children and adolescents).2). The Accuracy of TIME REPRODUCTION in children, were less than adolescents, in both mono-and dual task. Conclusion: the results of the present research show that TIME REPRODUCTION accuracy is different in children as compared with adolescents in both mono and dual tasks; so that TIME REPRODUCTION in children is less accurate than adolescents. This finding suggests that sensitivity to time increases with increasing AGE.
