Abstract

Long-term enteral feeding is vital in the management of conditions such as cerebrovascular disease or dementia. Placement of a percutaneous gastrostomy (PEG) tube is the most commonly used method for enteral feeding. It is not possible to place a PEG due to the absence of trans illumination, which is commonly encountered in patients with large hiatal hernias or organ transposition.
