Abstract

Background and Aim: In order to improve VETERANS’ access to specialized health care, telemedicine programs by various military organizations have implemented and evaluated. The purpose of this study was to compare the requirements of remote mental health services for VETERANS in selected countries.Materials and Methods: This survey was a descriptive-comparative study. Research society includes mental health service needs that contain structure, objectives, type of communication, human resources and service delivery practices in America, Australia, Canada and Iran. Data collected by searching library resources, publications and reputable sites and were analyzed by comparative tables.Results: Studied countries offer different types of care from mental health services in locations such as homes, nursing homes and clinics for the VETERANS. However, a few numbers of Iranian VETERANS can benefit from remote psychological services.Conclusion: It is not an approved program for use of mental health services by VETERANS. According to given the problems that VETERANS have in access to specialized mental health service providers, it is suggested that the martyr Foundation and health system managers be implement remote principled planning and robust actions for the VETERANS.
