Abstract

Background and Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate the negative consequences of traumatic use of Internet and virtual Social networks among spouses and identify strategies for dealing with it. Methodology: The methodological approach used in this research is phenomenology. Data were collected and recorded through individual, in-depth and semi-structured interviews with thirty individuals. Data were analyzed by qualitative data coding method. Results: negative consequences of improper use of internet and virtual Social networks on couple relationships include: changing one's value system; changing spouse's expectations and expectations; avoiding each other; creating distrust; isolating and avoiding real environments. Also, the most important strategies for participating men and women to cope with the negative consequences of using the Internet on their relationships include: trying to rebuild mutual trust; controlling and managing cyberspace; focusing more on each other's emotional and sexual needs;؛ Attend training classes. Conclusion: The consequences of inappropriate and inappropriate use of virtual Social networks among couples can be a prerequisite for a new type of social harm at the community level. Therefore, training the proper use of the Internet and Social networks through education and culture as part of life skills in the present situation is inevitable.
