Abstract

The main goal of this research is to analyze the characteristics of the Superior professor of science education Farhangian University from the perspective of students and professors of science education disciplines (Biology, Physics and Chemistry Education). Research approach is qualitative and its strategy is content analysis. The research community consists of students and professors of basic sciences in Bahonar campus of Isfahan. In order to get the views of students and professors, using a purposive sampling method of special types, twenty six professors and students of science education courses from Farhangian University were selected for interview. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews. Data analysis was performed based on the content analysis of the thematic and during the three stages of open, axial and selective coding. The data was coded after the conceptualization in the major classes. The results of the data suggest that the Superior professor at Farhangian University has three basic positions: academic education, behavioral education and professional education. Professional education refers to the distinctive features of Farhangian Univesity lecturers compared to other universities.
