Abstract

Human resources are the main resources in any organization and institution. Therefore, identification and development of human capabilities can play an important role in developing any institution. The aim of this study was to identify human capabilities and determine their development level and finally design a model of human capability development in sport which was conducted through qualitative research method with the exploratoryfundamental nature. The data were collected through snowball sampling method and based on in-depth interviews and focus groups composed of experts. According to grounded theory and constructivist approach, data were codified and analyzed. The results showed that human capabilities in sport were divided into three levels: fundamental, support and operational. The results also indicated that necessary measures should be taken in the individual, structural and contextual transformation factors to develop human capabilities in sport so that human capabilities in sport can be developed in all aspects and levels.
