Abstract

This study compares the Relationship Beliefs & marital burnout of women who want to divorce with that of women who wanted to continue their marital life. This research was done on 100 women (50 women who wanted to divorce and 50 women who want to continue their marital life) respond to the Couple Burnout Questioner (CBQ) & Relationship Beliefs Inventory (RBI). The results of study showed that there was a significant difference between the total scores on the RBI with regard to specific Relationship Beliefs of "Partner Can not Change" and "Disagreement is Destructive"& "Mind Reding is Expected" there was not found for hypotheses predicting a significant difference in beliefs related to "Sexual Perfectionism" and "Gender Deference", finding indicated a significant deference between correlation of the relationship beliefs and marital burnout between two groups of women. The results support previous research findings about the important role of Relationship Beliefs in marital adjustment.
