Abstract

This paper records a survey to determine the timming and sequence of eruption of permanent teeth in randomal and cross-sectional sample of children in Shiraz, and its relation to age, sex and also comparison of the results of this research with other studies.Results1-The mean of eruption age of permanent teeth for boys and girls is shown in figure 5 and 6.2- Table 19 shows the results of the cross-sectional survey. It shows mean, standard deviation and median of eruption age and its range (maximum and minimum) of eruption time.3- The other results of this research show earlier eruption of permanent teeth in girls than boys. 4- Lower jaw teeth usually erupt earlier than upper jaw teeth. No systematic difference between left and right of the jaws.5- Comparison of the results of our survey with other studies shows that eruption of teeth in Shiraz is later than in Tehran, South Africa, Kennya, Gambia, Uganda, American Negro and Japan.
