Abstract

Urbanization and civilization are two valuable achievements of human being during his last history. However, some parts of cities lose their normal functions as they get older and older. Worn out textures can be found in mostly all cities around the world. Apart from physical and structural problems, these textures are bearing many SOCIO-cultural shortcomings and in reality cannot be considered as a live part of the ECONOMIC circulation of the cities anymore. ESLAMABADGHARB having a 92000 population with 57.8 hectares worn out area is no exception. 36458 people live in worn out textures of ESLAMABADGHARB. The present paper tries to find answers for questions such as: how the SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION of the worn out textures are, and if there are any relations between such textures and SOCIO-economic, CULTURAL AND MANAGEMENT STRUCTURES of the city. To do so, we have selected 160 households out of 8541 who reside in the area using random sampling and Cochran method. To validate our questionnaire we have applied Chranbakh Alfa method and to test the hypotheses T-Test and Pearson methods are applied. Using the mentioned statistical methods we have tested relations between worn out textures (as dependent variable) and SOCIO-economic, CULTURAL AND MANAGEMENT STRUCTURES (as independent variables). For statistical testes and creating geo-database and digital layers SPSS and ArcGIS software are applied respectively. Findings of the present study indicate that spatial pattern of the worn out texture is mostly coincident with the central parts of city in which building are older and population density is higher than elsewhere. Also, based on Pearson method the relations between dependent and independent variables were verified with reliable scores.
