Abstract

This essay explores the Contrast between prefixed verbs of contemporary Persian and German. In Farsi, the prefixed verb is made up of a simple verb and a prefix. In this language, by adding derivative prefixes, the meaning of the prefixed verb may change to simple verbs. In German, the prefixed verb is made up of a simple verb, noun or adjective and a prefix. In this language, by adding a prefix by derivation, the meaning of the prefixed verb may be changed or its syntactic valence. Various word-formation meaning patterns are found in the verbal prefixes of both languages. While there are some similarities between the prefixed verb systems of these languages, there are also obvious differences between the two systems. However, Convergence and Divergence components of the prefixed verbs of both languages are relatively balanced. Data and preliminary findings of the present article are taken from index sources in the field of bilingualism, but the secondary data and findings are the results of the authorʼ s research.
