Abstract

Patients with end-stage renal disease are relieved of premature death by hemodialysis but suffer from a wide range of problems that affect their Quality of life. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of "Time perspective" and "Trust in God" on hemodialysis patients' Quality of life. The research method was descriptive-correlational and the statistical population consisted of patients who referred to Allameh Behlol Gonabad Hospital in the first three months of 2018 and met the inclusion criteria. The sample population, including 92 people, was selected by available sampling method using Morgan table. Data were collected using a questionnaire and data analysis was done by Pearson' correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis with SPSS 22. The results showed that the relationship between "negative past" and "fatalistic attitude" with "Quality of life" was negative; the relationship between "positive past", "enjoyable attitude" and "futuristic" with "Quality of life" and the relationship between "Trust in God" and "Quality of life" was positive (p <0. 01). Thus, two variables: "Time perspective"(Includes five dimensions: positive past, negative past, enjoyable attitude, fatalistic attitude and futuristic) and "Trust in God" are able to predict the hemodialysis patients' Quality of life. Therefore, it can be concluded that proper planning focusing on the above factors can be helpful in improving the hemodialysis patients' Quality of life.
