Abstract

DRY EYE SYNDROME is a highly prevalent ocular disorder affecting millions of people worldwide. It is a debilitating condition and can affect the quality of life. Patient-physician contact is of essential importance for the management of DRY EYE SYNDROME. Artificial tears of various kinds are important in mild cases. Lid hygiene, a short course of TOPICAL STEROIDs and systemic TETRACYCLINE are recommended in moderate to severe cases. Punctual occlusion is advisable in special cases. This review article provides updates on the current treatment of DRY EYE SYNDROME.
