Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the efficiency of the grades of some subtests of the university entrance examination to predict the students' achievement in Shiraz University. The sample included all of the students admitted in 74-75 academic year in four majors (Accounting, Clinical Psychology, Electrical Engineering, and Mathematics). The results showed that some subtests could predict the students' achievement. in the University. On the other hand, the results revealed that mathematics subtest did not have the validity to predict students' achievement. The results also suggested that, it will be very useful to apply a criterion- referenced along with a norm - referenced select students for the University.
