Abstract

ncompetent cervix refers to an specified identity in obstetrics and characterized by painless dilatation of the CERCLAGE surgical operation which is done in some cases in the form of emergency, but if it is accompanied by prolaps of amnion membrane, the chance of success won"t be too much.Our case was a woman with pregnancy (at 23 rd week of the pregnancy) and prolapsed amnion membrane, she underwent CERCLAGE operation. At first emerged amniotic sac from vagina was pushed into the cervix and then using Mac Donald technique the borders of dilated cervix was successfully sutured by special CERCLAGE suture.This successful operation had no complications such sa infection, bleeding or leakage and her pregnancy continued for 32 weeks. Then she referred with labour pain and leakage, so the CERCLAGE sutures were opened and vaginal delivery was permitted, two premature male neonates were born, but one of them died in the first 24 hours after delivery and the other one is going on to life without any problem or disorder.
