Abstract

As you know, patients with BRAIN DEATH are ideal cases for organ transplants (as donor). In this regard, relatives have vital situation and their KNOWLEDGE about this problem and their consent were needed. So in this study we have evaluated tehranians view about this problem with a questionnaire. The results analyzed by SPSS software.52.6% of cases were female and 47.4% were male. The mean age was 26.64 years. The mean KNOWLEDGE of cases was 84.4 (the maximum score was 150) and the mean positive view score was 164.72 (the maximum score was 210). The level of KNOWLEDGE, RELIGIOUS BELIEVES and positive sense had positive significant relation with positive view. All these 4 parameters had negative relation with age.The results showed that some strategies were needed to improve the KNOWLEDGE of the citizens about this issue.
