Abstract

Liver is the main way of body detoxification and so in danger of cellular lesion. In some toxicities, the toxicologic evaluations is negative and hepatic pathology may help in determining the cause of death.In this study, 515 cases suspected of toxicities according to toxicoligic or clinical findings, a liver sample was taken. Cases with known liver disease, pregnancy, CHF were submitted 84% of cases were male and 88% of them were in agerange of 15-50 years old. Opioids (63%), drugs (J9%) and toxins were the involved agent. The most common pathologic finding was acute hepatocellulosis (38%) and then chronic hepatocellulosis. 27% of cases had normal appearance.
