Abstract

Imam Ali's eloquent style of speech is, after the Quranic verses, the most supreme in Arabic. The text of his preaches has left profound influence on the world culture in general, and on Moslems' culture in particular. His words, known to be superior to human expression and inferior to God's diction, have enriched Arabic literature through rich literary discourses and lasting rhetorical constructions. The influence of Moula's rhetoric has been manifested in the precious writings of great Arab prose and poetry writers. The masterpieces left for us in Arab literature show clearly the traces of impact on the writers' expressions. Both in terms of content of the discourses and formal constructions used. The literary works remained from the past reveal the remarkable influence springing from well known writers' impressions taken from Ali's language; they display the penetration of the reigns of his guardianship. This impact can be traced everywhere and across all ages.This article is an effort to demonstrate the wide and profound effect of his expressions on great Arabic literary writers; and this will be done through the confessions made by popular Arabic literary writers about their expressive impression reflected in their works. The article will further deal with the dimensions of this lasting effect both in the content of discourses left from him and the formal constructions created in the preaches remained. An examination of the style of expressions, deemed as immortal, appearing in his speeches, sermons, letters, convictions, and aphorisms will be part of the investigation. And the clear influence of his language, deemed as extraordinary when compared with the masterpieces in Arabic literature, on the poetry of great Arab writers as left in their collections will constitute another major undertaking of the work.
