Abstract

The research is an exploratory Study aimed to investigate and describe the current status of the COMPUTER GAMES in term of organizations involved in the policymaking, planning, producing, monitoring, supporting the production and monitoring on importing COMPUTER GAMES. This study tries to evaluate the situation of production and importation COMPUTER GAMES in IRAN and thereby to pave the way for strategies and policies related to the area.In addition, regarding that the COMPUTER GAMES market in IRAN is dominated by the imported games, we investigated some leading international companies and presented a brief study on the characteristics, approaches and policies that govern the world market.In this research documentary study and exploratory interview were applied as the data collection method. Based on the research results, a series of main and sub organizations in government & public sector and about 30 private companies are active in the field of COMPUTER GAMES in IRAN.In addition to public and private sectors and formally imported and rated COMPUTER GAMES, the presence of an underground network of agents and channels to contraband that copy and distribute the foreign games between IRANian users is considerable.
