Abstract

Introduction: The diagnostic CRANIOMETRIC method has been suggested for determining OCCLUSAL VERTICAL DIMENSION. The purpose of this study is finding a more accurate method for determing vertical dimension of face. Materials & Methods: One Hundred men and 20 women participated in this study. This study established the proportion between ear-eye to chin-nose distance for determining reasonable OCCLUSAL VERTICAL DIMENSION.Result and Conclusion: The results revealed that in spite of acceptable. (pearsons product moment correlation coefficient) the EAR-EYE DISTANCE cannot be used to predict chin-nose distance with reasonable accuracy. However (together with the other methods) it can be helpful as a guide for determining OCCLUSAL VERTICAL DIMENSION.
