Abstract

This study is intended to compare the complications arising from the closing of the. Uterine Tubes on the one hand and the Natural contraception on the other in the Urban Females of Sabzevar in 1377 The cases of our study consisted of 259 women who had undergone operations between 1370 and 1376 as well as 285 women who had been using the NATURAL METHOD to avoid pregnancy. Their range of age was between 15 and 57 years; 93% were Homemakers and 50% had primary educational studies. It was found that MENSTRUAL DISORDERS among the cases and the control group was of significant discrepancy; the rate of the uterine and the ovarian operations in the case and control groups were about 7.7% and 12.4% respectively. Muscular and skeletal pains were felt more among the cases than the control subjects. Rate of anxiety, bad-temperedness and reduction of sexual desires as well as depression and the undesirable sexual relationships were found to be predominant in the case group, implying a significant difference between the two groups. Post-operational repentance was 8.5% Unwanted pregnancies were more observed in the control group suggesting a significant difference.
