Abstract

Introduction: Protection of staff against occupational health hazards as well as health promotion are considered an important goal of health system. Poisoned patients are remarkable portions of emergency clients whose mortality rate is 1%. A great number of the province residents are engaged in agriculture; therefore, a research was performed on the related factors.Methods: This cross- sectional study was performed during 2001. 540 farmers from different parts of the province were selected in a cluster multi-stage random sampling. Qnestionnaires of 104 items were used as data collecting sampling tools and mean comparision, chi- sequare test and SPSS software were used in analyzing the data.Results: All the studied were male. Of all the clients 25.2% claimed to be poisoned and 10% expressed some other members of their own families as being poisoned.Discussion: There was a Justification between poisoning and the elongated effects of PESTICIDEs and co-ordination with other performed researches. Steps should be taken to plan comprehensive studies to decrease PESTICIDEs usage, promote staff training, social attitude modification, beside cheap and suitable protection measures.
