Abstract

Materials & Methods: In a cohort analytical study the relationship between the MODE OF DELIVERY and neonatal RESPIRATORY DISORDERS amongst the TERM- BORNed individuals was assessed.A total of 600pregrant women out of 2006 cases were chosen and divided into there groups.a) 150 cesarian cases before Starting pain.b) 150 cesarian cases after starting pain.c) 300 normal delivery cases. All the groups were matched for the numbers of delivery, age of pregnancy, sex and neonatal weight. Finds: There was no significant correlation between the MODE OF DELIVERY and the Apgur score at the first and fifth minutes. A significant correlation was found for the MODE OF DELIVERY and the RESPIRATORY DISTRESS amongst the cesarian cases before and after pain (P=0.02). This correlation was also significant for the cesarian cases before pain and those who had normal deliveries (P= 0.008).The MODE OF DELIVERY was significantly correlated with neonatal mortality (P=0.02). The delivery age also showed a significant correlation with RESPIRATORY DISORDERS (P= 0.04).Conclusion: It is suggested that the beginning of delivery pain is a fine time for RESPIRATORY DISTRESS syndrome diagnosis along cesarean operations.
