Abstract

This research was an attempt to investigate the possible relationship between the PHILOSOPHICAL MENTALITY AND CREATIVITY of the staff working in Islamic Azad University, North Tehran Branch. The study aimed at identifying creativity and philosophical mentality of the staff of this university Branch. The study was descriptive in nature and made use of correlation studies for the purpose of data analysis. Using Kergsey and Morgan sampling techni0que, the sample consisted of 242 subjects randomly selected from a total number of 650 staff working in the university. Two standardized questionnaires were utilized to obtain the required data on creativity and philosophical mentality (r=0.88 and 0.74 respectively).The results obtained through statistical procedures (descriptive statistics: frequency tabulations, mean, percentage, variance, standard deviation and inferential statistics: correlation, one-way ANOVA and multiple regression) revealed that there is a positive correlation between philosophical mentality of the staff and their creativity.
