Abstract

Background and Aim: Newman's theory of how to implement and use Spiritual Care accurately and planned. Since nursing knowledge today emphasizes the use of clinical theories and considers nursing practice based on nursing theories valuable and important, this study aimed to determine the effect of Spiritual Care based on Newman's theory on Anxiety of mothers with cancer children. Was performed. Methods: Methods: The present study is a quasi-experimental study with two groups of intervention and control, 35 in each group and 70 in total of all mothers with children with cancer referring to Medical Center Hospital. Demographic characteristics questionnaire and Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Questionnaire were completed before and after the intervention in both groups. A Spiritual Care program designed based on the mother's need was administered in three days and three times daily. Data were analyzed using spss25 software. Results: After intervention, the mean score in the two control groups was 3. 34± 0. 53 and in the intervention group was 0. 37± 0. 49, and there was a significant difference (p = 0. 000). The results also showed that the mean score in the intervention group before and after the intervention was statistically significant (p = 0. 000), but in the control group before and after the intervention there was a significant difference (p = 0. 58). Conclusion: Spiritual Care based on the Newman model is effective in reducing Anxiety level of mothers with cancer children.
