Abstract

NEOLOGISMs are perhaps the non-literary and the professional translator's biggest problems (Newmark, 1988: 140). The present paper tends to investigate the Persian translations of some plays by SHAKESPEARE as well as the seventeenth chapter of Ulysses by JOYCE in order to study the nature of NEOLOGISMs in these masterpieces and also to detect the translation methods and procedures applied, so as to examine the translators visibility and to come up with some notions about the requirements of translating writers whose works enjoy a neologistic property. It has been concluded that the translation methods and procedures applied as well as translators' intention are some determining factors in the visibility of translators and similitude of the target text to the source text.
