Abstract

The present research was conducted with the aim of investigating the role of SPOUSES’ RELIGIOUS COMMITMENT as an influential factor in MARITAL SATISFACTION. To this end, 116 SPOUSES from the students of Bujnoord University and from Imam Khomeini Institute who had been married for more than one year were chosen for this research in which the questionnaires of Islamic MARITAL SATISFACTION and RELIGIOUS COMMITMENT were used. The data analysis indicates that the MARITAL SATISFACTION in the case when both SPOUSES are committed to religion, the MARITAL SATISFACTION is higher than when only one of them is committed to religion and the MARITAL SATISFACTION in the case when one of them is committed to religion is higher than when neither of them is committed to religion. Therefore, it can be said that commitment to religion has a significant role in MARITAL SATISFACTION.
