Abstract

The present paper seeks to investigate the effectiveness of FAMILY THERAPY based on behavioral-cognitive religion-based model on high school male students’ maladjustment and ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE. Using available sampling, 40 spouses were selected from those who visited the researcher in his/her specialized clinic for family counseling and to solve family conflicts. The results show that there is a significant difference between experiment and control group in terms of FAMILY’S FUNCTION and STUDENTS’ ADJUSTMENT and ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE (p<0.001). FAMILY’S FUNCTION in experiment group increased significantly in comparison to pretest and control group. Furthermore, the rate of students’ behavioral adjustment and ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE increased significantly in experiment group in comparison to pretest and control group. The research findings indicate that FAMILY THERAPY based on cognitive-behavioral religion-based model improves FAMILY’S FUNCTION and male high school STUDENTS’ ADJUSTMENT and ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE in Ahwaz.
