Abstract:

Abstract:

Introduction: The most common malignancy, with more than one million new case per year in the world, is breast cancer. The progression of breast cancer in human is mostly regulated with steroidal hormones such as estrogen and peptide growth factors which are interacted with epidermal growth factor 1 and 2. Hormone receptors level is low in normal breast tissue but high in two third of breast cancer.Material and Methods: In this study, 237 patients who had referred to the oncology clinic of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences with diagnosis of breast cancer (from 1382 through 1388) were involved. The variant data was extracted from the medical record. Data was analyzed by SPSS software and proper statistical examination. Results: From the total of 237 patients, 50.6% were ER+, 48.9% were PR+ and 37.1% were HER-2+. The greatest percentage of HER-2+(51.6%) was in the ages over 60 and the least in the group age 31-40 yrs. The greatest percentage of HR+(71%) was also in patients over 60 and the least (50%) in patients less than 30. 35.5% of patients in pre-menstrual period were HER-2+, at the time that HR+ percentage was 64% in LN+ patients, percentage of HER-2+ and HR+ was 35.4% and 65.4% while in LN- patients it was 39% and 61.9% respectively. The greatest positive rate of HER-2 was at stage I and HR+ was related to stage IV.Discussion: Acquired data showed to be in inverse ratio between the rate of expression of epidermal growth factor II and hormone receptors in breast cancer. 40-55% of samples with expression of epidermal growth factors lacked hormone receptors. Existence of both hormone receptors and expression of HER-2 in breast cancer are considered as important prognostic factors.

Breast cancer is a malignant proliferation of epithelial cells lining one out of women who lives more than 80 years in north America will develop Breast cancer. Incidence of Breast cancer In middle cast women is approximately 1.5 to 1.10 of western ones. screening mammography in women over age 40 years reduces mortality of breast cancer by 33%.Material and Methods: This was across- sectional descriptive study. The target population included all of the women’s referred to Towhid hospital that were examine by an obstetrician. Mammography and X-Ray were obtained. Data was collected by questionnaire and positive diagnosis was based on standard definition of the disease with survey of the mammography, X-Ray and physical examination. Results: The mammography was done on 759 women, mean age was 41-45. Breast pain was the most common chief complain. Breast Discharge & ulcer presented in 53% of patients In mammography reports There was no abnormal findings on 68% patients and abnormal high density in 24%, Benign mass in 6% and malignant appeared mass in 0.5% of reports was presented. Conclusion: The results of this study demonstrate the need to consider the women education and implementing screening programs. Mammography and ultrasonography are the most reliable and common imaging techniques for early detection of breast lesions. Because the breast are a common site of potentially fatal malignancy in women and because they frequently provide close to underlying systemic diseases in both men and women examination of the breast is an essential part of the physical examination.

Abstract:

Background: Breast cancer is a common disease in women. Detection and early diagnosis of this condition can be very effective in treating it. Mammography is currently the most effective methods of diagnosis for breast cancer.Material and Methods: We attempted to determine the masses in the mammography images. In this work, the proposed software can detect the areas around the mass completely and accurately identify and display it separately. In this method, using image processing techniques and algorithms, the mammographic images are analyzed. Noise removal and edge detection operations and the separation of areas with higher concentrations are the elements of the proposed method. Results: Because the human diagnosis and human errors do not play a role in this process, so the accuracy of the proposed method is very high. The detection rate of the proposed model is very higher than other methods reported in the valid literatures. Conclusion: The proposed algorithm has been done on 160 images in mammographic images analysis society (MIAS). The results are very acceptable, and the percentage error is less than 5 percent. High speed and free of human error was the most important factors in the proposed intelligent system.
