Abstract: 

Introduction: Educational programs need to be evaluated in order to achieve educational goals, improve quality and maintain dynamics. Regardless of the type of evaluation, in every evaluation there is a possibility of bias in the evaluator's decisions. Therefore, meta-evaluation is necessary. The purpose of this research is to Meta-evaluate the PhD program in the field of medical education in Iran University of Medical Sciences, using the Stufflebeam meta-evaluation scale. method: This study is a cross-sectional research using Stufflebeam's meta-evaluation checklist, which includes four standards. The utility standard had 7 indicators, feasibility, 3 indicators, propriety 8 indicators, accuracy had 12 indicators, and each of which was checked separately. Results: The results indicated that the highest overall score was related to the accuracy and the lowest was assigned to the practicality and ethical issues. The highest amount of evaluation power was related to the feasibility standard and the lowest was related to the propriety standard. In the final review of four metaevaluation indicators, it is clear that the status of the feasibility standard is very good and the moral standard indicator is average. The standards of usefulness and accuracy are also in good condition. Conclusion: Taking into account of the scores, it seems that the focus should be on training the evaluators and the topic of evaluation to improve the current circumstance. Moreover, maintaining the standards with high score is important. However, more attention should be paid to ethical issues in evaluation, such as making agreements between the evaluator and the evaluation client.

Abstract: 

Introduction: The majority of nursing students believed that their knowledge in the field of pharmacology is far from the desired level, which can be due to the large volume of intensive one-semester content and ineffective teaching of the pharmacology course. Accordingly, this study has determined and compared education with the mobile application and puzzle classroom on memorization of pharmacology course for undergraduate nursing students8 Methods: This quasi-experimental study was performed between 2020-2021. Seventy, 4th and 5th semester nursing students were divided into two groups using a table of random numbers. One group was taught through the mobile application and the other group was taught through the puzzle classroom. Before and one month after the intervention, students were tested in clinical reasoning. Data were analyzed using software version 16 and independent t-test, paired t-test and descriptive statistics8 Result: The findings of this study showed that there was no statistically significant difference between the memorization score of the pharmacology course of the puzzle classroom with education through mobile application compared to before and after the intervention and also in comparison between the two groups. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, both puzzle classroom and teaching through mobile application can be used to enhance learning pharmacology among undergraduate students.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Counseling by experienced, interested and motivated professors helps students in facing educational problems and achieving educational goals and is considered a necessary action in the educational system. The aim of this study is to improve the status of academic advisor and mentoring system in order to meet the educational needs of students of management and medical informatics faculty of Tabriz University of medical sciences. Methods: This is an action research study that was conducted during two semesters of the academic year of 1401-1400. First, a quantitative study was conducted regarding students' satisfaction with the academic advisor system, and then during numerous meetings in the form of focus group discussions with the main owners of the process, academic advisor systems problems and solutions to improve it were identified. In the last stage, after the implementation of interventions and solutions, the degree of improvement of the process was checked. Result: The participation rate of students in completing the satisfaction questionnaire was 65%. The degree of students' satisfaction with the professor's performance before the process improvement was 42. 4%. After identifying the main problems and challenges of the academic advisor and mentoring system (4 main themes and 7 sub-themes), actions aimed at increasing students' awareness, clarifying the process of the academic advisor and mentoring system, increasing the motivation of faculty members to cooperate in the academic advisor system and satisfaction survey of students was conducted in order to improve the process and adjust the problems of this system. With the implementation of the proposed interventions, the overall satisfaction level increased to 66. 7%. Conclusion: The promotion of this process increased the satisfaction of students, improved interactions between students and professors, and reduced the distance between the educational environment and students during the epidemic of Covid-19.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Patient safety training and principles of professional commitment are considered as the most important skills in medical science education systems. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between adherence to interprofessional professionalism and understanding of patient safety and professional commitment among surgical team members in one of the teaching hospitals affiliated to Qom University of Medical Sciences. Methods: This study is a descriptive-analytical study. The participants were 108 personnel working in the operating room and students of the operating room and intelligence in the field, who were included in the study as a census. In this study, two questionnaires were used: "Assessment of Interprofessional Professionalism" and "Questionnaire of Understanding of Patient Safety". The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics methods. Result: The results of the regression test showed that all areas of interprofessional behavior have a significant effect on the participants' understanding of patient safety (p<0. 05). Pearson's test showed that there was a significant relationship between the scores of the safety culture field in the patient safety understanding questionnaire and the scores of the interprofessional character fields. (p< 0. 05) Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the scores of people's adherence to the principles of interprofessional behavior and their understanding of patient safety. Therefore, it can be said that the development of interprofessional character proficiencies of health team members can significantly increase their understanding of compliance with safety principles.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Students enter the labor market in a relatively short period of time and play an important role in the development of the country. The aim of this study was to determine the entrepreneurial spirit of students as a case study in the Faculty of Health of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences in 2020. Methods: This cross-sectional and descriptive study was carried out in the year 2020. The study population was 248 students of the Faculty of Health of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences. The sampling method in this study was random-stratified and the tool used in this study was a questionnaire that measured the entrepreneurial spirit of students with 50 items. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and other independent t-test and ANOVA to determine the relationship between variables. The software used to analyze the data was SPSS 22. Result: The mean score of students' entrepreneurial spirit was average (27. 34 ±,183. 41). The success dimension (39. 04 ±,6. 42) had the highest score and the risk dimension (33. 62 ±,7. 04) had the lowest score. The mean score of entrepreneurial spirit was significantly different from employment status (p = 0. 004, t = 2. 88). While there was no significant difference with the variables of age, sex, degree and field of study (p> 0. 05). Conclusion: This research can help managers, policy makers and planners in strengthening and promoting the level of entrepreneurship of students by using entrepreneurship development programs and trainings. In this regard, improving the spirit of risk-taking is an effective factor.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Students’,dissertations is a prerequisite for graduation and given that a majority of the students delayed in completing and submitting the dissertation, our study aims to determine the causes behind the delay in timely completion of dissertation among virtual School of Medical Education and Management, faculty graduates at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study was conducted in 1399 with a sample size of 98 students using the postgraduate research experience questionnaire (PREQ) to evaluate students’,viewpoints, after translation and cultural adaptation, with a content validity of 0. 62 and a reliability of 0. 709. PREQ assessed research experience in seven dimensions of supervision, resources, research culture, advancement and evaluation, responsibilities, research skills, and professional development with 28 questions in a fivepoint Likert scale. Result: Overall, 49% were female and 51% were male participated, 73. 5% under the age of 40, 99% in graduate school, and 97% in medical education. About 40. 8% were in the middle of thesis writing stage and 33. 7% were in the defense stage. The supervision variable with an average of 4, 087 ±,0. 5338, and the research skills variable with an average of 4. 07 ±,0. 561 had the greatest impact on students' dissertation progress. Conclusion: Considering that students have in mind various alternatives to advance their research work, so planning to strengthen these ways minimizes the delay in defending the dissertation among postgraduate students.

Abstract: 

Introduction: One of the sections that readily captures the attention of readers of scientific articles is the title, but unfortunately, some authors, although being competent in writing the main content of the article, and considering the matters related to the writing style, mostly lack the skill required to couch the title in an attractive way. Methods: In this article, using three decades of experience in teaching and writing medical texts and articles, efforts were made to present four structural styles for writing the title of articles, so that respected researchers would not be unaware of the use of other styles that are uncommon in English. In addition, this article tries to introduce 13 methods of writing articles in terms of content and explain 8 of them which are widely used in medical sciences along with examples. Other points that can help improve the writing of the title of the articles are presented below, and at the end, the author provides explanations on how to write the purpose of the study as it is considered a major component of an article. Result: The review of articles published in English by those whose mother tongue is Farsi or English reveals important and noticeable differences in the writing style of the articles and also the purpose of the study. Conclusion: Resolving these discrepancies mainly requires holding numerous workshops and familiarizing respected researchers with metadiscoursal differences in the field.

امروزه انقلاب دیجیتالی همه رفتارها و سبک زندگی را تحت تاثیر قرار داده است از دیدگاه مراقبت های بهداشتی اینترنت اشیاء را هر وسیله ای است که بتواند داده های مربوط به سلامتی افراد را جمع آوری کند از جمله باندهای هوشمند، داروهای دیجیتال، دستگاه های جراحی قابل کاشت یا سایر دستگاه های قابل حمل که می توانند داده های بهداشتی و اتصال به اینترنت را اندازه گیری کنند. بر این اساس یکی از بیشترین از کاربردهای فناوری اینترنت اشیا در حوزه بهداشت و درمان گزارش شده است. در پایان می توان گفت اینترنت اشیا قدرت تاثیر گذاری گسترده ای بر عملکرد بیمارستان ها خواهد داشت. اما نکته مهم در خصوص، اجرایی سازی این سیستم در بیمارستان است امید است تا با بکارگیری اینترنت اشیاء در بیمارستان ها، عدالت اجتماعی در حوزه بهداشت و درمان که یکی از مهمترین خواستگاه افراد جامعه است، برقرا شود ضمن این که وضعیت محیط زیست و همچنین مجموعه فعالیت های بیمارستان ها از ناهنجاری های موجود به حداقل کاهش و مورد کنترل قرار گیرد. با توجه به اهمیت این موضوع، انتظار می رود کلیه مراکز بهداشتی و درمانی بتوانند کاربرد اینترنت اشیا را در کلیت عملکرد شان قرار دهند و بر اساس آن، سلامت و بهداشت جامعه را به سوی اثربخشی و کارایی هدایت نمایند.
