Abstract: 

Introduction: One of the hospital evaluation methods is the use of national accreditation standards that consideration to it causes Increasing both patient safety and quality of services. It is essential person’s involved in accreditation have the necessary knowledge and attitude.Aim: This study was done to assess knowledge and attitudes of managers and employees of Rafsanjan Medical Sciences Hospitals about accreditation.Method: This is a cross-sectional study. Collecting data instrumentwas, Azami and colleagues modified questionnaire.Samples were 92 persons; managers and employees of Rafsanjan medical university of sciences hospitals that they had at least one year experience. Sampling method was stratified random sampling. Data analyzed with SPSS 16 and T-test and ANOVA test were used.Results: Most participants in this study were female nurses (45.7%) and administrative staff were the lowest (20.7%). The mean score of knowledge and attitude in hospitals’ managers which were successful in obtaining previous rating respectively were (37.11±3.14) and (49.61±6.12). And for failed hospitals in accreditation degree was (32.94±3.61) in knowledge and (38.22±8.02) in attitude. T-test showed significant difference between the scores of knowledge and attitudes of managers (P<0.05). The mean score of knowledge of nurses in successful and failed hospitals in accreditation degree was significant (P<0.05) and their attitude was non-significant (P>0.05). These results for hospital staff in successful and failed hospitals was no significant (P<0.05).Conclusion: In order to results, it is necessary that hospital managers improve staff attitude and knowledge about accreditation and its benefits. Also, make the right culture among managers and employees to ensure the accreditation scheme would be useful.

Abstract: 

Introduction: The phenomenon of conflict in health system has always beenproblematic and has entailed the reduction in performance of the staff and the increase in health-care costs.Conflict is one of the inevitable aspects of daily lives of the nurses, especially in emergency department and it has different causes.Aim: This study has been conducted with the aim of identifying the extentof conflict and factors influencing it among the nurses in emergency department in Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences.Method: In this descriptive study, 147 nurses were selected by cluster sampling from the emergency departments of six teaching hospitals affiliated with Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. Data collection tools were researcher-made questionnaire that assessing the factors influencing conflict in two dimensions of individual and institutional factors. It’s reliability via internal consistency was measured (α=0.74 and ICC=0.82). The data were analyzed statistically using SPSS V.16.Results: Out of 147 nurses who participated in the study, (81%) were women and the average age of all the participants was 30.82. Coefficient variation showed that personal factors (73.64) had more influence on conflict among nurses in the emergency department than institutional factors (22.62).Conclusion: These results would be increase awareness among nurse managers about factors causing conflict and this cause awareness among emergency nurses that they try to eliminate or reduce these factors. And by this promote nursing care quality.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Emotional intelligence is an important element of education and it is one of the components of Educational Management. Emotional intelligence is core of clinical nursing practice. Students are frequently faced with these conflicts when they enter the clinical course, which leads to the formation of a sense of threat, loss of confidence and their motivation.Aim: This study aimed to determine the level of emotional intelligence in nursing students at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (2014).Method: IA cross-sectional study (Descriptive analysis type) was undertaken using Schutte Scale of Emotional intelligence (1998).320 First-, second-, third-, and forth-year undergraduate students at Tehran University of Medical Sciences were selected using stratified random sampling in 2014. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 18, independent t-test, one way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient.Results: The mean score of emotional intelligence in nursing students was (149.14 ± 15.62). Nursing students received the highest scores in the dimensions of emotion regulation from emotional intelligence scale. According to the negative Pearson correlation coefficient, Different dimensions of emotional intelligence had a significant inverse correlation with age (P=0.010).Students whose semester GPA were above 17, had higher emotional quotient (P=0.006).Conclusion: Based on findings educational Management at the School of Nursing by entering emotion regulation skills training and strengthening other dimensions of emotional intelligence, such as Assessment of emotion, in the curriculum; could improve emotional intelligence and good communication in nursing students who will be the future nurses.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Now, the first programs for nurse managers is plans for promoting nurses’ capabilities. Continuing education is the common way for increasing knowledge, skills and nurses’ability to performance.Aim: This study was done for assessing investigating causes of non- impact continuing education on quality of intensive nursing care in the open heart surgery.Method: This cross-sectional descriptive study was performed in 2016 that (62) clinical nurses in the intensive nursing care in the open heart surgery in the Shahid Rajaii hospital were participated.Data were collected by authors-made questionnaire with 30 questions in 4 domains: personal and professional features of nurses, environmental features, learning process and organizational and managerial. In order to its validity and reliability was evaluated with content validity and internal consistency with Cronbach’s alpha (0.8). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics with SPSS 16.Results: (93.5%) of nurses pointed out to the high impact of the lack of motivation to learning. (84%) of them believed that high impact of the unavailability of the educational content in units. (95%) pointed to high impact of educational relationship to the clinical evaluation and competency of educators. As well as (98.5%) pointed to high impact in the organizational and managerial dimensions related to the control and lack of appropriate evaluation criteria.Conclusion: For having effective nursing management and use of some effective motivational methods for nurses, participative them in decision making, supervision and control on nursing care in order to fair evaluation would be improve continuing education impact in the quality of intensive nursing care in open heart surgery.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Clinical settings due to their inherent nature can be stressful and challenging, which may result in depression, anxiety and job dissatisfaction among critical care nurses. One of the factors that, in many cases, can play a supporting role and assures quality care is self-compassion.Aim: This study aimed to assess self-compassion in critical care nurses.Method: This cross-sectional study was carried out on 181 critical nurses (ICU, CCU, NICU and Dialysis) from hospitals in South Khorasan province in 2017. Nurses were selected by convenience sampling method. Data were collected with Neff’s Self-Compassion Questionnaire (2003) and its internal consistency was (a=0.81).Data analyzed by descriptive (mean, standard deviation, frequency and relative frequency) and inferential (t-test, ANOVA and Pearson’s coefficient of correlation) statistics.Results: Mean level (3.86±0.67) of self-compassion was moderate.There was a significant correlation between self-compassion and age, experience years, sex as well as educational level (P<0.05).Conclusion: Nurse Managers should facilitate understanding and insight to self-compassion in nurses to gain a better attitude toward events of work environment. By this they would be used self- compassion for dealing job stresses.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Given the importance of e-learning in the modern educational system, many universities of medical sciences in Iran are trying to develop foundations and plans for this issue.Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the status of organizational factors affecting the use of e-learning in Islamic Azad University, Tehran Medical Sciences Branch.Method: This descriptive-survey study was done in 2016.Sampling method was purposive and by using Cochrane Formula (269) faculty members in Medical Sciences School in Islamic Azad University in Tehran selected. The data were collected using an author-made questionnaire which consisted of three dimensions of technological, economic, and administrative-logistic. Its reliability measured by using Cronbach’s alpha, the reliability coefficient for the total scale and its subscales was obtained 0.92. The data were statistically analyzed in SPSS21 and LISREL8.Results: According to data analysis Islamic Azad University, Tehran Medical Sciences Branch used technological dimension (6.656), administrative-logistic (0.685) and economic dimensions (-0.339).Conclusion: According to the study findings, for the application of e-learning in Islamic Azad University, Tehran Medical Sciences Branch, administrative-logistic and economic dimensions should be strengthened.

Abstract: 

Introduction: One of the vital key in productivity in health care organizations is human resources. So, one of the essential steps in productivity promotion is recognition causes in it; such as happiness, quality of work life, job satisfaction and etc.Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between happiness and productivity among nurses.Method: This study was cross-sectional that was done in 2014in one of the hospital in Kordkou city. By census sampling (130) nurses who worked in that hospital were completed questionnaires for data gathering. Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (2007) and Heresy Goldsmith productivity (2012) questionnaires were used.Their validity and reliability were measured in another studies in Iran.Data was analyzed by SPSS16.Results: The mean of happiness and productivity of nurses were (74.44±5.86) and (69.43±8.89) respectively. There was a significant positive correlation between nurses’ happiness and their productivity (r=%46).Conclusion: It would be suggested to nurse managers that they provide happiness program in hospital for nurses; such as happiness training or workshops that they would be promoted nurses’ happiness and productivity.
