Background & Aim: One of the basic and important needs of hemodialysis patients is vascular access. Nursing students as members of the health team and future nurses, play an essential role in the safety management of hemodialysis patients and therefore, their training is important to support patient safety. Today, evidence-based education with the objective of explicit and rational use of the best common evidence provides sufficient and necessary knowledge in the field of safe and effective management of patients according to evidence-based guidelines for nursing students. Therefore, the present study was designed and implemented with the aim of determining the effect of evidence-based education on the knowledge of nursing students in the care of hemodialysis vascular access in 2021. Materials & Methods: In this experimental study, 65 fourth-year nursing students of Urmia College of Nursing and Midwifery were selected and divided into two intervention and control groups. Then, in the intervention group, evidence-based training was provided to students in 4 sessions each for 1. 5 to 2 hours, but the control group did not receive any training. Information was collected with demographic information and hemodialysis vascular access questionnaires, and analyzed and compared using SPSS version 16 software. Results: The results of this study showed that the knowledge scores of nursing students before the intervention did not differ significantly between the two groups (p=0. 749). However, the scores of awareness after the intervention were significantly different in the two groups (p=0. 0001). On the other hand, there was no significant difference in the scores of knowledge of nursing students about hemodialysis vascular access at the beginning and end of the study in the control group (p=0. 107). Also, the scores before and after the knowledge of the students in the intervention group were significantly different (p=0. 0001). Conclusion: According to the findings of the research, it can be concluded that the implementation of evidence-based education was effective on the awareness of vascular access among nursing students. Therefore, it is suggested to emphasize the importance of knowledge of evidence-based guidelines in order to promote the transfer of theoretical knowledge to the bedside for nursing students.

Background & Aim: Multiple sclerosis is one of the most common chronic and debilitating diseases of the nervous system. Sleep disorder is one of the most important complications of this disease that affects the patient's quality of life. This study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of a selfmanagement program based on virtual group discussion on sleep quality in the patients with multiple sclerosis patients. Materials & Methods: The current research is a semi-experimental study with a pre-post-test design, conducted with the participation of 60 patients referred to the Urmia MS association in 2021, who were selected by convenient sampling and divided randomly into control and experimental groups (30 patients in each group). Patients of the intervention group received the educational content of self-management program through discussions with other group members on WhatsApp during 6 sessions and for one month. Patients of the intervention group received the educational content of the self-management program through discussions with other group members on WhatsApp during 6 sessions and for one month. Patients in the control group did not receive any training. Pittsburgh sleep quality questionnaire (PSQI) and demographic questionnaires were completed by the patients before and after the intervention. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics by SPSS version 22 statistical software. Results: The study groups were homogeneous in terms of demographic variables there was no significant difference between them (p>0. 05). The results of the paired t-test showed that, unlike the control group, the mean score of sleep quality decreased significantly after the intervention (p = 0. 001). Also, the results showed that the average score of sleep quality after the intervention had a statistically significant difference between the groups, so that after the implementation of the self-management program, sleep quality improved significantly in the intervention group (p<0. 05). Conclusion: The results of the study showed that the implementation of a self-management program based on group discussion in a virtual way has an effect on the sleep quality of multiple sclerosis patients and so could be used as one of the methods to improve the symptoms and improve the sleep quality in this patients.

Background & Aim: One of the critical issues that are considered in women's health is loneliness, its causes, and correlated factors. Thus, the purpose of this study was to determine the predictors of loneliness among women in Urmia. Materials & Methods: In this descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional correlational study, 220 married women living in Urmia were selected through cluster sampling. The UCLA loneliness questionnaire was used in addition to the demographic questionnaire to collect data in this research. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 21 statistical software as well as descriptive statistical tests (mean and standard deviation, frequency, and percentage), and analytical (Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression) at a significant level of P≤, 0. 05. Results: The results showed that the minimum age of marriage for women was 12 years and the maximum age of marriage was 40 years. Also, the youngest married woman was 19 years old and the oldest one was 60 years old. Furthermore, the minimum age of the spouses of the participants was 24 and the maximum age was 67 years. A step-by-step multiple linear regression model also revealed that variables of Husband's lack of employment (ß, =21. 399), women’, s occupation (ß, =5. 862), religion (ß, =3. 012), type of residence (ß, =2. 639) and spouse's age (ß, =0, 163) had the largest contribution in the sensitive prediction of loneliness. The regression model excluded other demographic variables. Conclusion: This study shows that demographic variables such as husband's lack of employment, women's occupation, type of residence, spouse's age, and religion have the greatest contribution in predicting married women's feeling of loneliness. It is recommended that in order to strengthen the family, importance should be given to pre-marriage counseling and the right criteria for choosing a spouse. However, it seems necessary to design counseling services in comprehensive health centers for this group so that counselors can teach married women how to overcome loneliness and improve the quality of marital relationships.

Background & Aim: Low physical activity increases the symptoms of mood disorders, including anxiety, depression, and stress in the patients with diabetes,so it will always be difficult for a person with diabetes to accept the fact that he has to change his life based on the disease. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the state of existential anxiety and central self-evaluation in the patients with diabetes and their relationship with their life orientation in the patients with type 2 diabetes referring to Urmia Diabetes Society in 2021. Materials & Methods: This descriptive-analytica study was conducted on 360 patients with type 2 diabetes in Urmia, Iran, in 2021. Demographic questionnaires, Good's existential anxiety questionnaire, life orientation questionnaire, and Jaj’, s central self-evaluation scale were used to collect data. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics by SPSS statistical software version 16. Independent t-test and ANOVA test were used to compare the mean score of variables between two groups or more than two groups. Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression test were used to investigate the correlation among the variables. The significance level was considered P<0. 05 in this study. Results: The results showed no statistically significant relationship between the central self-evaluation scores and the existential anxiety of the participants in the research (P=0. 547). However, based on the Pearson correlation test, there was a direct and significant statistical relationship between the central self-evaluation scores and the life orientation of the participants in the research (P=0. 022). Also, there was no statistically significant relationship between the existential anxiety scores and the life orientation of the participants in the research (P=0. 065). Conclusion: Since there is a significant relationship between the central self-evaluation scores and the life orientation of patients with type 2 diabetes, it is recommended that necessary education be provided to these patients by nurses during hospitalization and discharge to increase the positive vision, reduce pessimism, increase the ability to achieve success, enhance emotional adaptability, and improve the attitude of the patients.
