Introdution: Studies have shown that plant compounds have significant anticancer effects that if the challenges of using them are resolved, can be the successor to the synthetic compounds commonly used in cancer therapy. Therefore, in this study, the liposomal nano-carriers containing Nepeta persica extract have been investigated in order to improve the physicochemical characteristics and evaluation of its antitumor properties. Methods: The present study was an experimental study. Liposomal vesicles were prepared using SPC, cholesterol and PEG by thin-film method and the Nepeta persica extract was loaded into the liposomes. Their physicochemical characteristics were evaluated using Zeta Sizer, FTIR, SEM, and the release pattern of the extract was calculated at 37 oC and 42 oC. At the end, the toxicity of this nano-carriers containing the extract on the MCF-7 cell line of breast cancer has been studied. Results: The results of the study showed that the nano-carriers containing the extract had an encapsulation efficiency of 67/11± 5/74%, size of 116/9 nm, and-13. 24 ± 1. 01mV zeta potential, spherical morphology and controlled release. Also, the results of the toxicity of this nano-carrier containing the extract indicate that the liposomal extract has a higher toxicity to the MCF-7 cell line than the free extract. . Conclusion The results of this study show that nano-liposomes containing Nepeta persica extract, mean while having appropriate physiochemical properties, reduce the survival of breast cancer cells compared to nonliposomal extracts, and thus can be a good carriers for delivery of Nepeta persica extract to breast cancer cell.

Introdution: Adiponectin is a peptide secreted from fat cells that plays an important role in the development of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. A number of single nucleotide polymorphisms in the adiponectin gene are associated with lower adiponectin expression and T2DM. The aim of this study was to determination the frequency of rs 2241766 polymorphism in adiponectin gene and its relation with adiponectin level, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes and in pre diabetes/diabetes and healthy individuals. Methods: This study was performed in a case-control method. 73 prediabetic/diabetic patients with fasting blood sugar >100 mg/dl was selected as the case group without drug history, and 76 individuals with FBS 70-100 mg/dl as the control group. Biochemical and anthropometric variables were measured by standard methods and the levels of adiponectin and insulin hormone were measured using commercially available human ELISA kit. The determination of genotyping was done using PCR-RFLP method. Data were analyzed by SPSS software version 19. Results: Regression analysis showed that polymorphism rs2241766 in the adiponectin gene has no significant relation with diabetes and insulin resistance. No significant difference was found between TT and TG carriers for any of the variables in the two groups (pre diabetes/diabetes and Non-diabetic). A negative correlation was seen between adiponectin and insulin resistance ( r=-0. 225, p< 0/01). Conclusion: According to this study, adiponectin gene polymorphism rs2241766 is not associated with adiponectin levels, insulin resistance and type 2diabetes, but there was a correlation between adiponectin and insulin resistance.

Introduction: The role and place of pharmacists 'services as one of the main pillars of the patients' treatment chain is definitely unhelpful. Research in this area suggests that pharmacist counseling leads to positive therapeutic outcomes and improves the quality of life, awareness of drug use, and patient satisfaction. This study was conducted to investigate the activities of pharmacists counseling in southern Khorasan province in 2017. Materials: and Methods: This is a cross-sectional descriptive-analytic study. The statistical population of the present study was two groups of pharmacies and patients. All 84 pharmacies operating in Southern Khorasan Province were included in this study. In this research, two main types of tools for recording counseling behaviors, views, and opinions were used. The first evaluation tool was taken by the patients at the pharmacy at each visit. The second tool was a questionnaire, which was adapted from a questionnaire made by Allajil and Al-Banemi in Saudi Arabia. In order to close the content of the questionnaire and obtain more accurate information, This questionnaire was first reviewed by the professors and consultants, and then it was adjusted and localized by two experienced pharmacists of South Khorasan, Spearman, Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Kruskal-Wallis and Manviteni tests. Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between drug counseling and satisfaction rate of the patients in the 3rd and 4th scenario at level of. 05. All the relationships between the amount of drug counseling and the patient's satisfaction with counseling were significant at each level of 0. 05. There was an indirect relationshiop between scenarios one and two and direct linear relationship between scenarios three and four. Conclusion: Regarding the fact that the overall satisfaction of the patients from all scenarios is above 50%, it can be claimed that patients received a fairly good counseling.

Introdution: Neuropathic pain is one of the most important factors affecting the quality of life of people with diabetes mellitus; regular exercises may have a role in reducing the pain associated with diabetes. The purpose of this study was the effect of six weeks aerobic training on environmental neuropathic pain and expression of the NOTCH1 pathway in the spinal cord of diabetic male rats. Methods: 40 male Wistar rats (age: 8 weeks old; weight 220-250g) were randomly divided into 4 groups: diabetic neuropathy training (DNT), diabetic neuropathy control (DNC), healthy training (HT) and healthy control (HC). The diabetic groups were induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ) and two weeks after induction of diabetes, behavioral pain tests were administered and endurance training protocol was performed for 6 weeks and 5 sessions per week. . The data were analyzed via SPSS software version 19 and one-way ANOVA with a significant level (P <0. 05) Results: After 6 weeks of aerobic training, the expression of NOTCH1 HES1 and il6 genes in diabetic neuropathy training group was significantly lower than the diabetic neuropathy control group (P≤ 0/05). The mean weight of the diabetic neuropathic training group was more than the diabetic neuropathy control group (p=0/001). Also, exercise significantly decreased blood glucose levels in the diabetic neuropathy group (P=0/237). Conclusion: It seems that aerobic exercise on rats with diabetic neuropathy can affect on pain sensation as well as the levels of NOTCH1, HES1 and il6 factors, and aerobic exercise is a suitable method for preventing, controlling and treating pain associated with diabetes.

Abstract:

Introduction: Several factors are involved in failed fertilization following intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), which could be related to sperm, oocyte factors and/or both. Failure in oocyte activation is considered as the most important factor in failed fertilization after ICSI. To overcome this shortcoming, artificial oocyte activation (AOA) after ICSI has been suggested. Commonly, ionomycin and strontium chloride are used as the most efficient agents for oocyte activation in the clinic. In this study, for the first time, the clinical results of ionomycin and strontium chloride were compared on sister oocytes of couples who previously have had fertilization failure after ICSI. Methods: In this intervention study, 14 couples with male factor infertility and previous failed fertilization after ICSI were included in this study. Oocytes of their wives were divided into two groups. Half of the oocytes after ICSI were treated with ionomicin and other half were treated with strontium chloride. Then, fertilization rate, embryo quality and pregnancy status were compared through SPSS 18 software, Paired sample t-test and chi-square test. Results: Percentage of fertilization rate was significantly higher in oocytes that were activated using strontium chloride compared to those that were activated with ionomycin (p<0. 0001). Although, the pregnancy rate was insignificantly higher in strontium chloride group than ionomycin group (p=0. 387), but the quality of embryo was similar between the two groups (p=0. 924). Conclusion: In infertile men with previous failed fertilization after ICSI, the use of strontium chloride can also be recommended for oocyte activation.

Abstract:

Introdution: Thyroid gland has a major function in the metabolism. Overweight lead to cardiovascular diseases. Linum usitatissimum and Rosa domascena are used in traditional medicine for weight loss. This study was done for find the mechanism of these plants; also compare their effects on weight, thyroid hormones, and lipids profile in rats. Methods: 36 Wistar male rats were studied (control and 5 experimental groups) for 28 days. One day after the last intraperitoneally injection, rats were weighted, blood sampling was done and sera were separated. Lipids and thyroid hormones were assayed by biochemistry and Immunoassay methods, respectively. Data were analyzed at P<0. 5 level, by ANOVA, one way and t test via SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL; version 18. Results: Increases in T3 hormone in all groups (except the group receiving Rosa domascena at a dose of mg/kg500) and decreases in TSH in all groups compared to the control group were observed (P≤ 0. 05). Weight loss was shown in all studied rats (group1 P=0. 03, group2 P= 0. 042, groups3, 4, 5 P=0. 000). In all groups, the levels of triglyceride decreased (groups 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 P=0. 034, 0. 05, 0. 03, 0. 02, 0. 03). There were increase in the HDL and decrease in the VLDL in groups receiving high dose of Linum usitatissimum and Rosa domascena, as well as the group receiving these two extracts simultaneously, in comparison with the control group (P≤ 0. 05). LDL level, in group 5, was lower compared to the control group (P≤ 0. 05). Conclusion: Rosa domascena and Linum usitatissimum increase T3 and decrease TSH, these lead to reduction in lipid index and ultimately a loss in weight. The effect of Rosa domascena is more significant than Linum usitatissimum.
