Background & Aims: Chronic renal failure is an irreversible and progressive kidney disease in the world and also in Iran. Hemodialysis is the most common protective treatment in these patients and it has a significant impact on the patient's life. Sleep disorders in these patients are associated with physical, behavioral, and psychological problems. The aim of this research was to examine the effect of applying the health belief model on sleep quality in patients undergoing hemodialysis at Khoy Shahid Madani Hospital in 2018. Materials & Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest design and subjects were selected by random sampling from the available population (70 eligible patients) and then patients were assigned to the intervention and control groups. The Demographic Questionnaire and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Questionnaire were completed by the researcher for both groups during the first session. Then, for the intervention group, the health belief model training program was performed in six stages (perceived sensitivity, perceived intensity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, guidelines for practice, and perceived self-efficacy) in the form of eight one-hour sessions (one session per week) in groups and followed up for two months. In the control group, routine care was performed and no special intervention was performed. The sleep quality questionnaire was completed by the researcher for both groups. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. Data were analyzed by SPSS software version 24 using independent t-test, Chi-square, Mann-Whitney, and Wilcoxon tests. Results: Based on the findings, the difference between the mean score of total sleep quality in the two groups of intervention and control before the intervention was not statistically significant (p> 0. 05), but after the intervention, the difference in the mean score of sleep quality in all dimensions was statistically significant except for the use of hypnotics in the intervention and control groups (p <0. 05). Conclusion: Training based on the stages of the health belief model can be effective in improving and enhancing the sleep quality of patients undergoing hemodialysis. Training nurses about the use of this model can improve the sleep quality of patients. Therefore, the use of this model is recommended for the care of these patients and similar patients.

Background & Aims: Stroke can lead to post-stroke depression, which has severe negative effects on the quality of life of the patients. Post-stroke depression and quality of life may have interactions with each other. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of home care education to caregivers on depression and quality of life in stroke patients in Imam Khomeini educational and treatment center, Urmia, 2019-2020. Materials & Methods: The present study is a clinical trial in which a pre-test and post-test design with a control and test group was used. The sample size was 66 eligible patients who were randomly divided into two equal groups of intervention and control. The demographic information form of patients and their caregivers was completed by reviewing the records and interviews, and all the subjectsunderwent a pre-test to assess depression and quality of life using the Beck Depression Inventory (Second Edition) and the stroke-specific quality of life questionnaire. The intervention included conducting home care training for caregivers in four 60-minute sessions, once a week by the researcher at the patients' home by face-to-face method, with discussions and questions. Post-test was performed one month after the intervention in the intervention and control groups to assess depression and quality of life using previous questionnaires. Results: The findings showed that before the intervention, the two groups did not have a statistically significant difference (p = 0. 981), but after the intervention, the two groups had a statistically significant difference in depression scores. In the intervention group, depression score decreased from 39. 45 before the intervention to 22. 52 after the intervention (p <0. 001), while in the control group, this trend was almost unchanged and constant. The results also showed that before the intervention the two groups did not have a statistically significant difference in the quality of life score (p = 0. 471) but the two groups had a statistically significant difference after the intervention in quality of life scores. The quality of life score in the intervention group increased from 118. 58 before the intervention to the 183. 97 after the intervention (p <0. 001), while this trend remained almost unchanged in the control group. Conclusion: Based on the findings of the present study, home care training for caregivers is effective in reducing depression and improving the quality of life in stroke patients.

Abstract:

Background & Aims: Due to the condition of coronary heart disease and its epidemic, treatment staff and especially nurses have a key role in controlling and treating coronary heart disease. With these interpretations, the essential role of nurses as a powerful arm of hospitals should be acknowledged. In addition to the services that nurses provide to patients, the type of communication and how they treat patients has a great impact on the treatment process and patient satisfaction; It is possible to get the quality of communication with the patient and provide medical services to him is directly affected by the nurse's satisfaction. Satisfaction and comfort of nurses largely determine the quality of health care, so the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a variety of career paths on the psychological well-being of nurses in order to improve their productivity. Materials and Methods: This research is applied in terms of method and nature, including descriptivecorrelational research and in terms of purpose. The statistical population of the present study is the nurses of public hospitals in Khorramabad in the period of October to December 2016. Given that the statistical population was 450 people, based on Morgan table, the sample size was estimated to be 210 people. The sampling method in this study is available sampling. To collect information, standard questionnaires were used and to measure the variable of various career paths, the questionnaire of Briscoe et al. (2006) and also to measure the psychological well-being variable, the Reef questionnaire (2002) was used. . For reliability (reliability) of internal consistency, two criteria of Cronbach's alpha coefficient and structural reliability (combined reliability) were used for the suitability of the measurement model. In this study, the mean extracted variance (AVE) was used to assess the convergent validity. The GOF index in the PLS model is a solution to check the overall fit of the model and is between zero one and values close to one indicate the appropriate quality of the model. Results: The value of Cronbach's alpha is more than 0. 70 which indicates high internal compatibility. Also, the reliability of the structure (combined reliability) is obtained, which is more than 0. 70 and according to Fornel and Larker (1981) has a good reliability. Also, the factor loads for the items were more than 0. 40, which are statistically significant (acceptable) according to Hir et al. Convergent validity exists when the AVE is greater than 0. 5. The value of all AVE obtained in this study is more than 0. 50, which according to Fornel and Larker indicates the appropriate convergent validity. Structural equation modeling and PLS software were used to review and test the model. According to the value obtained for GOF of 0. 595, a very suitable fit of the general model is confirmed. The results of structural equation modeling using Smart PLS software showed that the research hypothesis is confirmed at 95% confidence level. Conclusion: Results at 95% confidence level indicate a diverse career path has a positive and significant effect on psychological well-being. According to the research results, it can be found that giving nurses more independence and freedom of action has a positive effect on the psychological well-being of nurses. It is also possible to have a positive effect on the communication and quality of services provided by nurses by improving personal and specialized skills and creating a creative atmosphere in hospitals, which is itself a consequence of the satisfaction of this group.
