Abstract

In this article, the amount of Total Phosphorus (TP) and Total Nitrogen (TN) of the surface, intermediate and deep layers of harbor and navigation channel of Anzali Port were determined in the months of August, October and November of 2012.The samples were taken prior to dredging, during dredging and after discharging the dredged material in the harbor and then were measured and examined in laboratory. The dredging operation was done by "Yasin" dredger. An analysis of data suggests that after discharging the mud and dredged materials into harbor, TN and TP have increased 1.021 mg/L and 0.103 mg/L, respectively. Definitely, there are numerous factors causing the phenomenon of "Alga Bloom" and the most important factor can be the availability of nutrients like phosphor and nitrogen which are usable by Alga.
