Abstract

The present study, conducted by fieldwork, aims at identifying the approaches to the DEVELOPMENT of COOPERATIVE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMs in EDUCATIONAL CENTERS. A sample of 1094 subjects were selected randomly through Morgan Stratified Sampling Table out of the 95905 population of Tehran EDUCATIONAL CENTERS managers, assistants and teachers in 2003-2004. A 26-item 5-choice Likert-scale questionnaire was developed by the researcher. 20 experts validated the questionnaire whose reliability was estimated 0.87 by Cornbach Alpha. Descriptive statistics computed the frequency of distribution, the percentage of the responses and the mean. In the inferential statistical phase, using a rank scale questionnaire, a separate x2 measure was adopted to evaluate each single item on the questionnaire; and combining the items related to each hypothesis, the longitudinal level of scaling was enhanced. To compare the managers, assistants, and teachers` comments at different educational levels, the Analysis of Variance was used. The results showed that the most important approaches to the DEVELOPMENT of COOPERATIVE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMs in EDUCATIONAL CENTERS are: (a) In the pavement of cooperative SYSTEM respect: staff awareness of concepts, the goals and philosophy of cooperative SYSTEM, staff encouragement to join cooperative SYSTEM by managers, mutual trust among managers and staff, etc. (b) In SYSTEMatization aspect: devising regularities and executive rules, goal setting, provision of educational opportunities for the agents and cooperators, etc. (c) From the gradual DEVELOPMENT perspective: voluntary establishment of the SYSTEM, implementation of the simplest forms of voluntary COOPERATION via praises and criticisms, staff self-confidence DEVELOPMENT, etc. (d) In the management respect: management authority to call on the teachers’ COOPERATION, clarity of the decision making process in EDUCATIONAL CENTERS, decent relationship among managers, staff, and teachers, etc.
