Abstract

 This study was conducted in order to compare the effect of gradual DESENSITIZATION techniques, ASSERTIVE TEACHING, and their combination on curing the SOCIAL PHOBIA disorder. For this purpose, 32 individual affected by the SOCIAL PHOBIA disorder ( aged between 18 to 32 both single and married ) were randomly selected from the students of Islamic Azad university, Payam Noor University, and Ferdosi university of Neyshaboor and they were assigned in four treatment and control groups. In order to gather data, self assessment questionnaires and clinical interview were employed and then the data were analyzed based on mono-variance and toki' s trace test. The findings indicated that the methods of curing gradual DESENSITIZATION, ASSERTIVE TEACHING and their effectiveness decreases afterwards. Also this combined method of treatment has proven to be more effective than the others.
