Abstract

 This research was carried out to compare the ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE, ANXIETY, DEPRESSION and AGGRESSION of two groups of third-grade female students at Ahvaz Guidance Schools: Those with STEPFATHERs (or STEPMOTHERs) versus those who live, with their natural parents. The sample consisted of 216 students which randomly selected from the educational districts of the city of Ahvaz. The scales used in this study were Beck DEPRESSION Inventory (BDI), Eysenck AGGRESSION Inventory(EAI), and ANXIETY Questionnaire (ANQ). Student GPAs were used as an index of their general ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE. Data analysis, using a One-way ANOVA, indicated significant differences among the groups with respect to their scores on all three dependent measures (i.e., ANXIETY, DEPRESSION and ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE indices).
