EFFICACY OF SOCIAL SKILLS TRAINING ON AUTISTIC BEHAVIORS AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT IN CHILDREN WITH AUTISM DISORDER THROUGH SOCIAL STORIES

Abstract

 Objectives of this study were to evaluate the effectiveness of SOCIAL SKILLS TRAINING through social stories to reduce autistic behaviors and increase social development in children with AUTISM DISORDER. This quasi- experimental study, design test- retest with control group Using a acceptable sampling method, a sample consisting of 16 children with AUTISM DISORDER were randomly 8 patients in experimental group and 8 patients were in control group. Experimental group was treated for 4 months, 56 sessions of SOCIAL SKILLS TRAINING under the style of social stories. Post test data collect after the 3 weeks. Pre and post- test data were investigated using a covariance analysis test. Results of the study showed that SOCIAL SKILLS TRAINING through social stories led to the reduction of autistic behaviors and decrease social development in the subjects (p<0.05).
