Abstract

An overview on research literature shows that addiction is considered as one of the most important factors threatening social welfare and security which increases crime and risky (dangerous) behaviors and disturbs social security. Accordingly, the present research aims to examine the role of ANGER CONTROL TRAINING in making ADOLESCENCE RESISTANT against addiction. The research sample included 30 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS who were selected using cluster sampling method. Then, the students were randomly assigned into two groups (experimental and control groups). The experimental group received 12 sessions (two sessions per week) ANGER CONTROL TRAINING program. Then post-test assessments were made in both groups. State-trait anger expression inventory (STAXI-2) and Iranian ADDICTION PREPARATION Scale (IAPS) were applied to assess the variables. Analyzing the data clearly showed the effectiveness of ANGER CONTROL TRAINING in ADDICTION PREPARATION reduction. So, in comparison to the pretest and control group which didn't receive any interventions, the experimental group that received ANGER CONTROL TRAINING program showed significant decrease in ADDICTION PREPARATION scores. So, by adopting such training approaches in children and adolescents, we might be able to take an important step in drug abuse and addiction prevention in this population.
