THE EFFECT OF INDIVIDUAL FACTORS ON WOMEN'S ATTITUDES TOWARD BODY IN TEHRAN

Abstract

 Introduction and Aim: In this study, INDIVIDUAL FACTORS affecting women's attitudes toward BODY MANAGEMENT are examined. The objective of this study is to determine factors influencing women's attitude that is discussed with the help of the theories of Foucault, Gaffman, Baudrillard, Turner, Moss, Douglas, Festinger, and Feminists. The subject is explained and analyzed with questions such as to what extent do INDIVIDUAL FACTORS influence women's attitudes towards managing body? Do demographic characteristics (education, economic status, age, and so on) affect the attitude of women towards managing the body?Research methodology: The population of the study was all the woman participating in sports clubs of Tehran District 5 which their number was 1841 people. The sample size was estimated 317 people by Cochran sampling formula and samples were selected using cluster sampling.To collect data was used from a questionnaire which covered the survey questions The Method is survey, to collect data, a 14-item researcher designed questionnaire based on Likert scale is used whose validity was confirmed by 8 experts.Findings: To analyze the data use was from descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, average and standard deviation in the form of tables and charts) and inferential statistics (Cronbach's alpha, chi-square and kruskal -Wallis tests) by SPSS software in significance level P£0.05.Conclusion: the findings showed that all INDIVIDUAL FACTORS influencing the attitudes of women towards managing body are at a level higher than the average. There is a significant difference in the effect of INDIVIDUAL FACTORS on women's attitudes towards BODY MANAGEMENT based on demographic factors such as age, marital status, personal education, maternal education, employment status, economic status, income and housing situation. However, there is no significant difference in social and cultural factors influencing attitudes of women towards managing body based on area of residence.
