Abstract

The present study aimed to study the factors affecting the women's PARTICIPATION in the decisions related to the family in Bojnourd City. The theoretical framework used in the study, was the theory of gender sociability. This study was a survey one, with a sample of 383 people who have been selected randomly from among a population of 115842 married women of Bojnourd in 1393. The instrument used for data collection was a researcher made questionnaire. The results of the study suggest that the benefits of resources including the job dignity of both spouses, and assets and attitudes toward women such as the perception of the women about their role and women's perception about their husband's attitudes have the greatest impact on the amount of women's PARTICIPATION in the family's decision making. The results of the study suggests that the benefit of resources, including job dignity of both spouses and assets and gender attitudes towards women, including the role of women, and women's idea of their husband's attitude have the greatest effect on the women' s PARTICIPATION in the DECISION - MAKING of families.
